Sex workers robbed at gunpoint leads to charges for Mississauga man

A Mississauga man has been charged after allegedly robbing sex workers at gunpoint and police say there may be more victims.
The Toronto Police Services says that on May 12, a man contacted a female sex worker and arranged a meeting at the woman’s residence in the area of Shuter St. and Parliament St. in Toronto.
But police say the man was armed with a handgun and barged his way into the woman’s residence when she opened the door for their arranged meeting.
The suspect then held the woman at gunpoint and demanded cash, also pointing the gun at a second female victim who came to the door.
Police say the victims told the suspect they did not have any cash and he fled the scene empty-handed.
TPS says that during the investigation it was discovered that Peel Regional Police were looking into a similar incident involving a sex trade worker.

A 22-year-old from Mississauga was arrested on May 13 by Peel police and released on bail the same day. He was arrested again on May 19 and police say the same suspect was involved in both home invasions.
Police have charged Yousef Babiker, 22, of Mississauga with:
- Robbery With Firearm (two counts)
- Pointing Firearm (two counts)
- Weapons Dangerous
- Use Imitation Firearm during Commission of Indictable Offence
- Disguise With Intent
- Uttering Threats
