Kerr Street has long been a popular destination for Oakville shoppers and restaurant lovers and now planning by the Town of Oakville is underway to give the main shopping area a fresh, updated look and they want your say on how they should go about it.

“We’re making Kerr Village a more vibrant place for residents, visitors and businesses,” said the Town of Oakville. “Planning is underway to enhance the streetscape in the main shopping area of Kerr Village.

“The town has hired a consultant to conduct a public realm study and develop a streetscape plan which will include recommendations for improvements and implementation.”

Proposed improvements to enhance the Kerr streetscape will be shaped by input from local residents, community groups, business owners, developers, Council, town staff and the consulting team.

All will have an opportunity to share their thoughts throughout the four stages of the planning process with different ways being provided to share feedback.

On June 3, members of the public will have an opportunity to have a one-on-one discussion with a project consultant to share their input on what should be the key considerations for the streetscape project.

To book your 15-minute conversation, email [email protected]. An open house and workshop will also be held later in June, with details to soon be provided by the town.

The current status of the project has the consultant finishing an inventory and analysis of existing and planned conditions in the study dealing with land uses and building (existing and planned), streetscape conditions, active transportation and transportation and transit.
