Shooting death in Toronto leads to murder charge against Mississauga man

Mississauga man charged in violent Toronto carjacking.

A Mississauga man has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of a Toronto man last fall.

Toronto Police said in a news release that they arrested the man on May 26 and charged him in connection with the Oct. 6, 2022 murder.

Police say they were called to a shooting at a home on Needle Firway in Toronto just after 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.

According to investigators, officers who responded to the call discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim was identified as Osman Bangura, 28, of Toronto.

Last Friday (May 26), Tafari Minott, 21, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

He appeared in Toronto court the following day.
