Shooting in Burlington sends man to hospital

A man has been rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds following an altercation in Burlington this afternoon.
Halton Regional Police say they were called to the scene at Guelph Ine and New St. just before 2 p.m. with reports that a man had been shot.
When they arrived officers and medical personnel found the man and attended to his injuries.
At this time the victim’s injuries are reported to be serious.
Police have not released any suspect information.
A heavy police presence remains in the area at this time in the area of 2400 New St., a high-rise building.
