Six Halton Residents Charged With Impaired Driving

Despite years of awareness campaigns illustrating why driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs is dangerous, impaired driving remains the top criminal cause of death in Canada, according to Halton police.

In an effort to bring more attention to the risk of driving while impaired, assist in identifying witnesses and reduce continued offences, Halton police are reporting the following impaired driving-related incidents across Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills:


Name: Robert Wight, 20, of Halton Hills

Date/Time: Dec. 1, 2017, after 2:30 a.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Guelph St. and Adamson St. in Halton Hills

Charges:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Michael Brock, 61, of Halton Hills

Date/Time: Nov. 29, 2017, after 11 a.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Longfield Rd. in Halton Hills

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Jacob Biskupski, 24, of Mississauga

Date/Time: Nov. 30, 2017, after 12:08 a.m.

Location: Officers investigated a collision involving two vehicles near Kerr and Stewart streets in Oakville

Charges:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Sheri Anne Matthews, 50, of Burlington

Date/Time: Nov. 28 2017, after 1:45 p.m.

Location: Officers investigated a collision involving two vehicles near New St. and Longmoor Dr. in Burlington

Charge:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle


Name: Simon Bullen, 48, of Dundas

Date/Time: Nov. 28, 2017, after 9:25 p.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Near Woodward Ave. and Ontario St. in Milton

Charges:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Robert Maynard, 50, of Brampton

Date/Time: Nov. 29, 2017, before 2:54 a.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Third Line near the eastbound ramp of Hwy. 403 in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle


Name: Thomas Wilcox, 56, of Oakville

Date/Time: Nov. 27, 2017, after 5 p.m.

Location: Officers investigated a collision involving an alleged impaired driver at the intersection of Northampton Blvd. and Headon Forest Dr. in Burlington.

Charges:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Lisa Chiasson, 51, of North York

Date/Time: Nov. 24, 2017, after 9:30 p.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Near Mill St. and James St. in Milton

Name: Ritchie Perera, 27, of Oakville

Date/Time: Nov. 25, 2017, just before 1 a.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Upper Middle Rd. E. and Ninth Line in Oakville

Charges:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: James Boose, 21, of Halton Hills

Date/Time: Nov. 26, 2017, after 2:30 a.m. during a traffic stop

Location: Mountainview Rd. N. and John St. in Halton Hills

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: April Eden, 33, of Dundas

Date/Time: Nov. 26, 2017, before 11:30 p.m. during a RIDE check

Location: Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Plains Rd. W. in Burlington.

Charges:

* Impaired operation of motor vehicle

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives, police say.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
