Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Halton Region with 15 cm expected by Thursday morning.

“Snow will continue [Wednesday] before becoming heavy this afternoon,” according to Environment Canada. “Heavy snow will continue through this evening before tapering to flurries overnight.”

Additionally, strong snow squalls are expected with “heavy and blowing snow” expected to develop Thursday afternoon east of Lake Huron and may extend into the Golden Horseshoe.

The snow squalls will likely continue through Friday, as well; causing whiteout conditions.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” added Environment Canada. “Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.”

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
