Stolen car, weapons discovered following suspicious vehicle search in Burlington

Police keeping watch on a suspicious vehicle in Burlington led to the arrest of a man wanted on previous charges.

According to Halton Regional Police, the incident unfolded just before 4 p.m. on August 18 when officers noticed a man sitting in a vehicle in the Walkers Line and Upper Middle Rd. area.

During their investigations officers found that the person in the vehicle was wanted on charges related to intimate partner violence.

As well, they discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen the day before.

While making their arrest, officers searched the vehicle where they found a replica gun and an illegal knife.

Subsequently, police charged a 28-year-old man with possession of a weapon for a danger purposes, and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

The person charged is being held for a bail hearing.
