Violence in Gaza November 2023

Students from across Ontario walked out of class Monday to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

High school students from at least one Oakville school and several Hamilton schools were among those who left class in support of Palestinians who are living in a war zone in Gaza right now as Israeli forces continue their bombardment.

The students, with many sporting Palestinian flags and carrying ‘Free Gaza’ signs, want an immediate cease fire in the region.

The protests were organized by Ceasefire Now, a coalition of 42 Ontario student groups as well as humanitarian, civil society, faith, and labour organizations calling on the public and Ottawa to support a ceasefire.  Other protests took place in dozens of locations around the province, including Milton at Main and Milton streets.
