Suspicious package found at GO Train station in Oakville

*UPDATE* The south parking lot at Bronte GO Station was reopened at around 10 a.m. according to Halton police and trains are back running.
A suspicious package prompted a police response at a GO Train station in Oakville.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious package at the Bronte GO station around 5:30 a.m. today (Feb. 6), Halton Regional Police said in a post on X.
Police asked people to stay clear of the area while they completed their investigation.
GO Transit said the Bronte GO Station is closed.
No GO train or bus service were run into or out of Bronte GO, GO Transit said on X around 7 a.m.
“Please avoid travelling to Bronte GO station. GO trains will continue to run between Oakville GO and Union Station,” the post read.
In an update around 8:30 a.m., police said the station remains closed for investigation.
Halton Police Explosive Disposal Unit are on scene investigating.
