Thai restaurant in Burlington is closing next week

Time is running out to try a Thai restaurant in Burlington that will close next week.
Citing a burgeoning burnout brought on by two years of COVID-19 restrictions, the operators of PinToh Cuisine (399 Elizabeth St.) say they will close up shop on Feb. 16. The Thai soul food restaurant has been at that location for the last six years, and is operated by My Thai group; the principals of Pintoh include Vanh Bah Kalong and Keng Zung.
“As you know the last couple of years have been kind of crazy,” they wrote in an Instagram post. “It seems like we’re back to where we started and while we’ve seen some of our friends in the industry not so lucky, we were blessed. With such amazing support from the community, we were able to not only survive but thrive.
“With that, came so many challenges and our tiny staff could only handle so much. It’s been emotionally draining keeping up and quite frankly we need a break and recharging.”
PinToh noted that the pandemic has hampered the ability to provide Burlington foodies with “the level of service and experience” that the restaurant expected of itself. There was an indication of an intention to return, preferably sooner than later.
So, for now, it’s not a goodbye; it’s a see you later.

PinToh serves diners from 3 to 8:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday, 12:30 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:30 to 8 on Sundays.
The Taste of Burlington Instagram said it was “sad” to learn that PinToh is parting from the local food scene.
“If you’re like us, you’ll be there once, maybe twice this week for the amazing pad Thai!” they wrote.
