The Milton Public Market has Closed Suddenly

Many Milton residents, and those who were planning to visit, who were excited to venture out to the new Milton Public Market this summer may be disappointed to hear that the market has closed suddenly.

The market was founded by Philip Suos, the founder of two other widely popular Milton events - the Holiday Street Market, and The Mac and Cheese Festival. And was located at the Milton Fairgrounds and was going to be open every Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.

The market kicked off on May 25, and was going to be open until Sept. 15, 2019.

However, the market recently took to their Facebook page to announce that it has suddenly closed due to circumstances beyond their control.

This has left many fans of the market disappointed.

I was able to attend the market once,” one Facebook commenter wrote. “Was looking forward to seeing it grow. Community markets are so important. Really wonder what has happened. Please keep us posted and let us know if anything can be done.”

However, this may not be the end of the market.

It may reopen but I can’t guarantee it,” Suos said in a statement. “We made it very affordable for vendors and also offered free admission but with us hitting bad weather, it costed us way too much.”

Suos also said that his health had taken a toll.

Are you sad to see the market postponed?
