This American Retailer is Coming to Oakville Place

Being outdoors, regardless of how cold it is sometimes, is what a lot of Canadians thrive on. So, it only makes sense that a popular American retailer that specializes in quality outdoor gear and apparel would set up shop in Canada.

L.L. Bean - a Maine-based retailer that sells outdoor gear, apparel, and more, is set to open its doors at Oakville Place later this year.

This will be the retailer's first Canadian brick-and-mortar store location.

L.L. Bean was first founded by Leon Leonwood Bean more than 100 years ago (107 to be exact). Since then, the company has drastically expanded. There are 41 L.L. Bean locations in the United States, 27 in Japan, and soon there will be one in Canada.

The retailer is coming to Oakville Place as a result of an exclusive licensing agreement with Jaytex Group - a Canadian distributor of quality, brand name, apparel, and clothing.

However, if one new store opening just got you excited then prepare to be ecstatic because L.L. Bean is not the only store slated to open at Oakville Place this year.

A new buybuy BABY location is also expected to open sometime this year. If you're unfamiliar, buybuy BABY, according to a press release, offers a range of brand name and baby goods mainly geared towards newborns and their families.

The goal of introducing both of these stores is to help make shopping easier for people.

"Oakville Place is one of our town's most recognizable landmarks and has always been a place for communities and families to gather and meet their shopping needs," Carl King, General Manager, Oakville Place, said in the release. "Brands such as L.L. Bean and buybuy BABY reinforce our position as the go-to destination for Oakville's shoppers."
