Burlington Hydro has confirmed the source of a power outage affecting 8200 homes and businesses in Burlington.

Crews are at the Hydro One Cumberland transformer station addressing the problem.

The believed cause is to be weather-related.

The station covers a widespread area of Burlington from south of the QEW through to the north end of Dundas between walkers and Guelph line.

There is no estimated time of restoration announced yet.

A fallen tree has damaged a power like near the Cumberland transformer. Crews continue to work to restore power.
