Toronto man charged following Burlington bank robbery

A Toronto man faces charges following a recent bank robbery in Burlington.

According to Halton Regional Police, the robbery took place at the Royal Bank branch at 15 Plains Rd. E. on Aug. 9.

Reports say a man entered the bank around 1 p.m. and went up to a teller and demanded cash. When the loot was collected the suspect fled out the back door.

No weapon was seen during the incident and no injuries were reported.

Today, Waterloo Regional Police made an arrest in connection with the case.

Charged with robbery and wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a crime is Rayven Lewis, 27, of Toronto.

Lewis is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
