The benefits of having a casino in Milton continue to pay off for local community groups and organizations.

Milton Town Council approved allocating grants from the Milton Community Fund totaling $362,564 to 46 local organizations at this week’s council meeting.

The Milton Community Fund supports a wide variety of not-for-profit organizations and programs that enhance local access to artistic, cultural and recreational programs.

“The Town remains committed to supporting local, not-for-profit organizations that are dedicated to helping our community thrive and prosper,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. “Grants from the Milton Community Fund will help our recipients power initiatives aimed at bringing our residents together and improving our community’s quality of life.”

Milton Council established the Milton Community Fund to distribute a portion of the funds received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Woodbine – Mohawk Park to local organizations.
