The South Oakville Centre will soon be home to “authentic” Lebanese food.

The mall located on the corner of Rebecca St. and Third Line will be home to Layl by Laylak, opening up later this year in the same location where Tavolo Restaurant used to be before it closed.

Laylak Lebanese Cuisine is expanding on its popular location in Toronto’s financial district, which has won a 2023 OpenTable Diners’ Choice award winner.

“Laylak Lebanese Cuisine brings a high-end modern twist to traditional Lebanese cuisine,” said the restaurant on its website. “With an emphasis on quality ingredients and expert culinary techniques, Laylak offers a unique dining experience.”

Laylak starts the day with a brunch menu the combines savoury and sweet flavours. Sit down for a variety of food that ranges from fluffy pancakes and poached eggs to sandwiches and salads.

Visit them for lunch and enjoy appetizers like spinach fatayer  kibbeh, or hummus before ordering some kibbeh al seakh, grilled octopus or chicken tawouk.

Dinner choice are also plenty and begin with soups, salads and appetizers like cheese rolls, batata harrah and makanek before choosing from main dishes such as grilled tiger shrimp, freekeh with beef cheek or branzino harrah, combing orfa chilli, pine nuts and fennel.

The restaurant also offers signature cocktails and a wide selection of wines to choose from.

While an official date for its opening has yet to be announced, the new restaurant in Oakville posted an “opening soon” sign on the front window.
