Transit cops attacked at Burlington GO station

An assault on transit officers at the Burlington GO station has led to several charges being filed.

According to Halton Regional Police, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the station located on Fairview Street.

Police say during an interaction and arrest of a passenger, the two Special Constables were assaulted.

When Halton police arrived at the scene they took a man into custody.

Sean Kelly, 47, of no fixed address, now faces several charges.

  • Assault of a peace officer
  • Two counts of assault with intent to resist
  • Two counts of disarming a peace of officer
  • Sexual assault

Kelly was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
