Three Burlington neighbourhoods will be the focus of the City’s tree pruning program in the weeks ahead.

According to Ward 6 Councillor Angelo Bentivegna’s office, the focus of this year’s program is on the Orchard, Millcroft and Alton Village Communities. As well as a portion of the commercial area south of Upper Middle Rd, between Appleby Line and Burloak Dr., inclusive of Halton Region roads.

This will be the first year of pruning in Alton Village as the trees in the neighbourhood have matured

Pruning of trees and bushes is carried out each year as a preventative maintenance program to ensure safe clearance for emergency response and utility vehicles on roads and sidewalks. It also enables the visibility of traffic signs and clear site lines around intersections and reviews structural integrity for resilience to significant weather events.
