Halton Healthcare reports that two Burlington residents have died in the past week, victims of COVID-19.|

While many consider the pandemic to be over, hospitals across Ontario continue to treat patients for the virus and health experts urge everyone — especially those who are most vulnerable — to continue to receive vaccines.

Currently, there are 13 people being treated for COVID in hospitals in Halton. It’s important to note more than half of those were admitted for other health reasons but later tested positive for COVID.

Throughout Halton, for the past week, the number of cases of COVID determined through lab tests has been slightly lower than 10 per day.

As well, outbreaks have been reported at two long-term care homes in Burlington. Although the numbers are not available the facilities where there are current outbreaks include Rivera Burloak and Cama Woodlands
