UPDATE: Police Attend 23 Fire Calls Due to Transformer Fire in Acton

Halton Police have attended 23 fire calls following a transformer fire that occurred in Acton.

Halton Police have attended 23 fire calls following a transformer fire that occurred in Acton.

Police say most of the calls were for reports of smoke, however, there were two calls for significant structure fires.

Both fires are out and there were no injuries.

Earlier today (May 16) Halton Police reported that a transformer had exploded in Acton.

The explosion caused a power surge which impacted residents in Georgetown. In addition, the Toronto Premium Outlets Mall was evacuated.
