The Halton Regional Police Service told the public to take shelter and avoid the area of Mississauga St and Honeyvale Rd.

Officers responded to “an individual in crisis” Friday afternoon just after 1:30.
Police say the individual barricaded themselves in a residence—possibly with firearms.
As of Friday afternoon, Mississaga St remained closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Rebecca St and Lakeshore Rd W.

Heavy police presence ongoing as our officers work to resolve this safely. That may take some time, and we are asking the public to stay out of the area.
