UPDATE: Seven Youths in Custody Following Milton School Lockdown

Seven youths are currently in custody following a Milton school lockdown.

Police say there are no outstanding suspects.

Earlier today (Jan. 10) Halton Police ordered a hold in place at three schools located in the Town of Milton due to police activity.

These schools consisted of Bishop Reding High School, Chris Hadfield Public School, and St. Peter’s Elementary School.

However, police later said that the status of Bishop Reding High School had changed to a lockdown.

At this time, police have confirmed that all students and staff at the three Milton schools are safe, and that no injuries have been incurred.

The hold and secure on both nearby elementary schools has been lifted, police say, and both schools are returning to regular operations.

Police expect that the lockdown will also be lifted soon.

UPDATE (1:56 p.m. Jan. 10): According to police, Bishop Reding remains in lockdown. Students and staff are safe, and Halton Police officers are still on scene.
