UPDATE: Suspect Arrested Following Carjacking in Oakville

Halton Police have arrested a suspect following a recent carjacking incident in Oakville.

According to police, on July 30, 2019, one man was responsible for an attempted theft of a vehicle from the Petro Canada gas station on Royal Windsor Drive in Oakville. Approximately 30 minutes later, the same suspect was involved in a gunpoint carjacking at a sports complex on Cornwall Road in Oakville where he successfully stole a vehicle.

Police later located the stolen vehicle that was being driven in the area of Dundas Street and Winston Churchill, the vehicle was disabled with the help of a tire deflation device. 

The vehicle, police say, was abandoned in a small parking lot in the area of Dundas Street and Glen Erin Drive in Mississauga. The suspect also attempted to steal two other vehicles at gunpoint at this location. He was unsuccessful.

The suspect was located by police and arrested after a short standoff.  

A search of the surrounding area resulted in the recovery of an Air Soft pistol with an exact resemblance to a Remington 1911 pistol.

As a result, Caleb Beach (21) of no fixed address was arrested and is facing the following alleged charges:

  • 2 Counts of robbery with a firearm
  • 2 Counts of point firearm
  • Robbery
  • Attempt theft of motor vehicle
  • Disguise with intent
  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Weapons dangerous
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Utter threats
  • Fail to comply with weapons prohibition
  • Fail to comply with probation
