UPDATE: Suspect in Custody Following Sudden Death in Oakville

A suspect is in custody following the sudden death of a man in Oakville.

On Aug. 25, 2019 at 8:11 p.m. Halton Police received a call from a residence on Marine Drive in Oakville.

On Aug. 25, 2019 at 8:11 p.m. Halton Police received a call from a residence on Marine Drive in Oakville.

Police were advised of an altercation between two males at the residence.

Police located a 74-year-old man with obvious trauma.

The man has since been pronounced dead.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man at the scene and are not searching for any additional suspects.

Police say the deceased and the suspect in custody were known to one another.

The Homicide Unit is investigating.

The accused will make a court appearance in Milton on Monday August 26, 2019.
