UPDATE: Two Arrested After Milton Shooting Leaves Victim with Life-Altering Injuries

Police recently made two arrests following a shooting in Milton on Friday, February 1.

Police recently made two arrests following a shooting in Milton on Friday, February 1.

Just before 3:00 p.m., tactical and K9 officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Maple Avenue and Main Street East.

A male victim in his 20s was taken to hospital in critical condition.

His injuries are described as life-altering.

“A 9mm handgun and a .40 caliber handgun were recovered at the scene shortly after the shooting,” police report. “Two vehicles involved in the shooting have also been recovered.”

Officers have arrested 28 year old Milton resident Kyrie Lansford McKay and 22 year old Toronto resident Aekwon Stailuv Murray.

McKay is charged with Attempt to commit murder using a restricted or prohibited firearm, Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, and Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

Murray is charged with Possession of weapon obtained by crime, two counts of Unauthorized possession of firearm, and two counts of Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon.

Police believe all people involved in this incident are known to each other.

“The investigation into this incident is ongoing and we anticipate additional charges being laid,” police say.
