Upgraded Angela Coughlan Pool set to re-open next week

Burlington’s newly renovated Angela Coughlan Pool is set to re-open next week with free swims in the works.

Burlington’s newly renovated Angela Coughlan Pool is set to re-open next week with free swims in the works.

The pool, located at 2425 Upper Middle Rd., has been undergoing since March of 2019 and will feature a number of upgrades to give the facility and modern looks and feel.

Upgrades include:

  • Partial pool deck replacement around the lap-pool
  • Retiling of the lap-pool deck
  • Lap-pool tank repairs
  • New HVAC and upgraded dehumidification system
  • New LED lighting
  • Plumbing improvements
  • Introduction of a new universal change room.

Monday, Sept. 21 is the date of the re-opening which will take place online hosted by the City. To watch the virtual re-opening ceremony, go to burlington.ca/coughlanreno. A link will be posted to watch online.

Also on the opening day, the City will be offering the following aquatics programming at the pool:

  • Lap swim
  • Leisure swim
  • Fun swim
  • Combo swim
  • Water running
  • Women’s only swim
  • Leadership courses.

Pre-registration is required at burlington.ca/fall.

The free swim will take place Sept. 26 and 27 with new protocols and reduced capacity in place to meet public health and provincial guidelines. Pre-registration is required through burlington.ca/fall.
