An overwhelming influx of rabbits has the Oakville and Milton Humane Society hoping the public will hop to it when it comes to wanting one.

“We’re in urgent need of help,” they said on Facebook.

The local animal shelter says it is currently facing an overwhelming number of rabbits in their care.

“Our shelter and foster homes are overflowing, and we’re finding more abandoned rabbits outside our facility, as well as in parks and nearby stores,” they said. “We desperately need foster homes for these extra rabbits.”

The Humane Society said it will provide those who adopt one of the furry friends with food, litter, litter box, pen, bedding, water bowls, toys, and enrichment.

“We provide everything you need to ensure a successful fostering experience,” they said.
