According to the Town of Halton Hills, the use of electric vehicle chargers at municipal facilities continues to climb.

“To date, a total of 321 charging sessions have taken place with total savings of 1,289 litres of gas and 3,021kg of Co2,” said a Town spokesperson.

In 2019, the Town of Halton Hills declared a climate change emergency and committed to rapidly reducing greenhouse gas emissions with the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2030.

Nearly half of the greenhouse gases in Halton Hills come from gasoline vehicles. One of the most impactful ways the Town can reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to support a system of electric charging stations in convenient locations throughout Halton Hills.

“The Town continues to engage in partnerships to assist the community to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said the spokesperson.

“Our latest partnership is with Ivy Charging Network and Flo Network where we have installed new electric vehicle chargers throughout Halton Hills.”
