Victim of Burlington Shooting Identified As EMS Dispatcher

A female has been pronounced dead after a shooting in Burlington.

The female has been idetified as Laura Grant, a Mississauga Central Ambulance Communication Centre dispatcher.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. today (August 21), Halton Police received a call from within a residence at 2244 No. 2 Side Road in Burlington regarding a shooting at that location. A man was quickly taken into custody. Grant was located at the residence with traumatic injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police believe that the accused and the victim are known to each other.
