Video: Man dangerously hanging on back of trailer on QEW in Oakville

Burlington OPP is investigating after receiving video of a man hanging on the back of a trailer driving on the QEW in the early hours of Wednesday morning (March 8).
A man driving in a vehicle alongside the truck on the QEW westbound near Burloak captured the dangerous act around midnight.
The man can be seen standing on part of the truck and hanging on to the back of the trailer.
“The driver of the vehicle motioned to the truck driver that there was something wrong,” said Kerry Schmidt, OPP media relations officer.
The truck driver pulled to the shoulder and as he stopped, the male on the back, described as wearing a black jacket and grey pants, jumped off the back of the trailer.
“He was last seen running up the ramp to Burloak Dr.,” said Schmidt.

Burlington OPP were also called. They searched the area looking for this person with no success.
“The truck driver advised that he had last loaded and stopped at the yard in Milton about half an hour earlier and has no idea when or how this person jumped on the back of the trailer and hitched a ride,” said Schmidt.

Schmidt cautioned others about the dangerous stunt.
“Certainly a very dangerous behaviour, something that we don’t want to ever see and certainly could cause serious injuries, or even deaths if there was a collision or if he fell from the trailer,” said Schmidt.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the incident, is asked to call the Burlington OPP at 905-681-2511.
