Earlier this month it was announced that the Canadian National Railway (CN) had donated $150,000 to the Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF). This money will go towards making sure that the Milton District Hospital (MDH) is equipped to meet the needs of the rapidly growing town.

Now, according to a recent Halton Healthcare press release, the hospital has received another $150,000, this time from the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary (MDHA).

The cheque was presented to the hospital on May 15, 2019, during the MDHA 2019 annual general meeting.

The money, as noted in the release, was raised by MDHA volunteers during a number of events.

“The Milton District Hospital Auxiliary raises funds through revenue generated from the gift shop, vendor sales, 50/50 draws, HELPP lottery sales and community donations,” Bonna Richmond, MDH Auxiliary President, said in a statement. “Of course, we also have our annual fundraising events including the strawberry fair, Christmas gift wrapping, rummage sale, plant sale, and Christmas luncheon. A big thank you to our sponsors, our supporters and our community for all they do in support of our hospital.”

It has not yet been confirmed what this money will go towards.

As noted in the release, Halton Healthcare’s hospitals accept applications for new volunteers twice a year.

“Adults and youth looking to volunteer will be able to submit an application online or in person from July 1-August 12, 2019,” reads the release.
