Where's Helen? Burlington Senior Still Missing a Year Later
It’s been a year and one day since Helen Robertson of Burlington went missing but Halton police say they’re not giving up on bringing her home.
“Until Helen is found, we’ll never stop looking for her,” said Det. Sgt. Ron Hansen.
Robertson, who would now be 80, has Alzheimer’s disease and disappeared from her home on July 5, 2016.
An extensive ground search with police dogs and the marine unit turned up empty.
So did an aerial search.
A clue turned up after her brown leather Fossil wallet was found inside a fenced field at Norton Park near Walkers Line and Dundas St. last April.
The youth who discovered it was fishing in Bronte Creek, stumbling upon the wallet while walking up an embankment to leave, according to police.
This changed their search location. But again, no luck.
Robertson is known to walk long distances.
She’s slim, standing about 5-foot-2 and weighing 110 pounds.
