Woman Arrested Following Seven Shoplifting Incidents in Burlington and Oakville

A Toronto woman has been arrested in connection with multiple thefts in Halton Region.

A Toronto woman has been arrested in connection with multiple thefts in Halton Region.

“On March 20, 2019, quick-thinking staff at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Cornwall Road in Oakville recognized a female suspect from prior thefts at their location,” police say.

Officers responded and arrested the woman as she was leaving the store. 

She is identified as 39 year old Toronto woman Tamara McKay, believed to be responsible for seven thefts throughout Oakville and Burlington.

“The combined value of the thefts is in excess of $20,000,” police report.

McKay is charged with six counts of theft under $5000 and one count of theft over $5000.

She was held pending a bail hearing on Thursday, March 21.
