According to Point2Homes, four of the top seven happiest places to live in Canada are Milton, Halton Hills, Burlington and Oakville.

The online real estate company looked at factors like economy, real estate, location and demographics, health and well-being, and community & environment.

One element the research didn’t consider was average home prices, a major factor that will affect almost any homebuyer’s happiness.

So in order to find the most affordable cities of the happiest cities, Zoocasa analyzed the average home prices for the top 20 happiest cities in Canada and found the rate of price growth for each.

And although people in Halton live in some of the happiest communities in the country, the cost for anyone who wants to move there remains sky high.

Milton is second on the happiest city list and has an average home price of just over $1M, up 13 per cent over the last three years.

One spot behind is Halton Hills, with an average home price of $1.14M, up 22.5 per cent over the last three years.

Burlington is fifth on the list, with an average home price of $1.14M, up 24.4 per cent over the last three years.

And perhaps Oakville would be higher on the list, currently seventh, if the average home price wasn’t just a shade under S1.4M, up 6.3 per cent over the last three years.
