Burlington residents can easily get rid of unwanted electronic items this weekend.

BurlingtonGreen is teaming up with the Burlington Centre and Burlington Repair Cafe for a “Zero Waste Extravaganza” on Saturday, May 13.

Offices and schools are also encouraged to participate.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can drop off electronic items in the parking lot of Burlington Centre where local environmental advocates will help you dispose of the items in an earth-friendly way.

Crew members from the ERA (Electronic Recycling Association) will be on-site to accept computer and cell phone electronics, and a series of Terracycle Zero Waste bins will be stationed at the event to accept more unique waste items not currently accepted in Halton Region’s recycling program.

As well, the Burlington Repair Cafe volunteers will be on hand to help with repairs of broken household items.

The initiative is being undertaken to divert electronic waste from landfill through proper disposal, recycling and repairs.

Burlington Centre is located at 777 Guelph Line.
