Ah, Timmies. A Canadian classic, right next to moose, igloos, and Justin Bieber. In celebration of National Coffee Day, our beloved coffee chain is giving away a million coffees! How so, you ask?

From September 29 until October 8, Timmies is giving away a whopping up to one million coffees Canada-wide – that includes original blend, dark roast, decaf, or iced coffees of absolutely any size – and there’s a special way to redeem the offer.

Here’s how:

If you want the free coffee, you’ll have to download the Tim Hortons Mobile App, complete a transaction on it, and then redeem the offer within the app.

Haltonites should note that Timmies says this offer is available at participating Tim Hortons Restaurants in Halton, so you should confirm with your cashier when you get to the counter or drive-thru, or call-in ahead of time to double check.

Basically, the app lets you pay for your order before picking it up. That means no waiting in line in-store or at the drive-thru. A lot of their standard menu items are available on the app, like breakfast sandwiches and timbits.

“This National Coffee Day, we’re excited to give away a million coffees to our Guests through our new Mobile App,” said Sami Siddiqui, President, Tim Hortons Canada. “We’ve been part of the daily routine for many Canadians for more than 50 years, and now we’re proud to be able to evolve that experience by helping them order their favourite products right from the palm of their hands.”

“Our goal with digital is to take everything our Guests love about Tim Hortons and extend it from the Restaurant to their phones,” said Steve Greenwood, President of Digital, Tim Hortons. “We are humbled by the initial reaction from users and delighted to share this new offer with our Guests to celebrate National Coffee Day.”

You can get the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Users can only get one free coffee after getting the app and completing a transaction.

Get caffeinated this week, Halton!
