Halton Health is reporting 14.1 new COVID-19 cases a week (on a seven-day average) as the virus continues to loosen its grip on the population, a little more three-and-a-half years after the pandemic was declared.

The per cent positivity rate of 13.1 per cent is a little higher than desired, with eight active outbreaks in retirement centres, hospitals and long term care homes with 11 patients currently in hospital with the virus.

Wastewater tests show zero (of two testing sites) with results greater than ten per cent.

Just under 1.6 million vaccinations have been given to Halton residents.

Each school board creates their own COVID-19 policies and Halton Health is still encouraging everyone to continue daily screenings before attending school or child care and to stay home if they develop any new or worsening symptoms.
