“New Year. New beginning.”

So reads the social media post that has announced the return of Louanne’s Famous Fries to a new Halton Hills location.

Louanne’s trailer has been well-travelled and in the past few months has been searching for a permanent home.

This time it will be stationed in the parking lot of Georgetown FreshCo on Guelph St.

Louanne’s has been without a home since last fall when it had to leave its Trafalgar Rd. location. Another landing spot was found but that deal fell through.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for your business and continued support,” wrote owner Melissa Keith on Facebook. “We look forward to seeing you at our new location this spring”

The bright pink trailer had become something of a local landmark having reinvented itself a few times in almost 30 years and Georgetown residents who lamented its demise are now pleased with its potential return planned for April.

“This is great news, I can’t wait to get my hands on those fries,” said one social media user. “Best fries anywhere. I would travel to get them but luckily I can just walk there.”

Along with the favourite Newfie fries (covered with beef and gravy), Louanne’s also serves up such classics as burgers, hotdogs, sausages, peameal, chicken fingers and onion rings.
