Burlington filmmaker Chandler Levack will be back behind the camera in the months ahead with the production of her next movie.

Following the success of I Like Movies, the writer/director is currently developing her next feature-length film, Anglophone, and expects to begin work following the news that Telefilm Canada has committed funding for the project.

“Hi, I’m making another coming-of-age movie, this is my indie sleaze Montreal movie produced with Zapruder Films and Pat Kiely,” wrote Levack on social media today. “I can’t wait.”

Levack also congratulated the 31 other filmmakers who will receive financial backing from Telefilm Canada, a Federal government agency that supports and fosters this country’s arts and culture.

Set in Montreal in 2011, Anglophone is Levack’s take on life in that city for young English-speaking residents and their experience with music-themed movies of the day.

In her first feature film, I Like Movies, Burlington is featured prominently including scenes from her old high school, Aldershot.

That film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and has since been shown around the world to both audiences and critics who have appreciated the Canadian suburban take on the coming-of-age theme.
