Alleged Toy Thief Sought in Burlington

 

A suspect stole $700 worth of toys from a Burlington store and Halton police are asking the public to identify him.

He had a cart full of toys and walked out of the sliding door” without making any attempt to pay, said Const. Naresh Dabas from the district response unit which is focusing on retail crime as Halton police are cracking down on shoplifting across the region.

A store employee asked the man for a receipt for the items, said Dabas, and he just held up his hands.

He had something in his hands — it’s unknown if it was a receipt,” Dabas said.

The incident took place at Toys R Us at 3051 Appleby Line on Dec. 2.

The man got into a car and “the empty shopping cart was found in the middle of the lot,” said Dabas.

Stolen items include:

  • Fur Real Tiger $129.95 (two items).
  • Walker - $39.99.
  • Nerf Rival $76.97.
  • Drone $59.97.
  • Baby Alive doll $69.99.
  • Hatchimals $79.99.

The man is described as white, 30-years-old, standing six-feet, weighing 180 pounds. He had brown hair and was wearing a green sleeveless shirt and jeans.
