April 6 Weather: Double digit temperatures return to southern Ontario

After a largely cold, grey and wet week, the weekend is set to be much sunnier.

According to Environment Canada, the cloud coverage of the last few days will break around 5 a.m. leading to a partly cloudy early morning when the sun rises around 7 a.m.

These last cloudy vestiges will persist until about 10 a.m. In this time temperatures will rise to 6 degrees from a brisk 3 degrees early in the morning.

By 11 a.m. the skies will be clear and blue. Temperatures will continue to rise until they peak at 10 degrees around 5 p.m.

Winds will be steady throughout the day, but moderate. They’ll start from the northwest at about 20 km/h with an occasional gust hitting 40 km/h. After that winds will balance out at a steady 30 km/h until nightfall.

Sunday is looking even nicer with a sunny day and temperatures up to 11 degrees. However, clouds will return on Monday just in time for the eclipse. While one’s view of the sun may be obstructed, the darkness will remain evident.
