Arrests made after Halton officer follows vehicle in Mississauga

Four people were arrested Tuesday after a Halton Police officer located and followed a pickup truck that had been reported stolen.

Four people were arrested Tuesday after a Halton Police officer located and followed a pickup truck that had been reported stolen.

The officer reportedly observed the truck being operated in the area of Winston Churchill Blvd and Royal Windsor Dr in Oakville.

“The officer followed the vehicle until it stopped at a commercial business parking lot on Winston Churchill Blvd in Mississauga that contained rental storage containers,” said Halton Regional Police in a media release. “The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested, along with a fourth individual that was located on the property.”

Police say they also raided one of the storage containers, leading to the seizure of additional stolen property.

Julius Layug (29) of no fixed address was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Breach Probation. He was held in custody.

Stephanie White (30) of Mississauga was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Driving While Disqualified. She was held in custody.

Courtney Nodwell-Arsenault (25) of Mississauga was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. She was released from custody with conditions.

Nicholas Newman (31) of Mississauga was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was released from custody with conditions.
