The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) made three arrests in connection to the incident last month (May) when a video surfaced showing males throwing objects at vehicles on the Queen Elizabeth Way.

On Sunday (May 31), police arrested and charged:

Alias Ouzzine (20) of Burlington

  • Mischief Cause Danger to Life

Geoffrey Prins (18) of Burlington

  • Mischief Cause Danger to Life

A 17-year-old male from Oakville was also arrested and charged with Mischief Cause to Danger Life, however police will not be revealing the identity of the youth.

Police say an investigation confirmed that the accused were throwing eggs at vehicles driving on the QEW in Burlington.

All three arrested parties have been released from custody pending a court appearance in Milton.

“Investigators would also like to thank residents for their assistance in this investigation,” added police. “[We] received a large amount of information from the public after the initial media release, and that information helped investigators immensely.”

On May 10, Halton police were made aware of a social media video which depicted two males throwing objects at passing vehicles on the eastbound QEW in Burlington.

In the video, two people can be seen standing by the South Service Rd, throwing objects at moving vehicles.

“The males are observed doing this numerous times and laughing as they attempted to hit vehicles with objects which may have been eggs”, said police.

“This was an extremely dangerous and irresponsible act as vehicles travelling on the QEW are moving at least 100 km/h and this could have caused a motorist to panic and have resulted in a serious traffic collision on the QEW.”

The video in question has since been removed from the posting Instagram account
