COVID-19 numbers are back on the rise in Halton Region this week, with the numbers up slightly across the board.

The seven day moving average for new cases of the virus is now 15 per cent, up from 13.7 a week ago, while the per cent positivity rate climbed to 20.2 per cent from 17.6 per cent.

There are 12 outbreaks in hospitals, long-term care homes and retirement centres – up two from the previous reporting period – with ten patients in hospitals with COVID, a jump of four from the previous week.

One of Halton’s two wastewater testing sites – Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant in Burlington – is also showing a signal strength of greater than ten per cent.

The data arrives as residents six and up are now eligible to book their next vaccine booster – as well as a flu shot – at local pharmacies and at regional immunization clinics.
