Alice the cow has returned home.

A cow escaped and was on the loose in rural Burlington yesterday and this morning.

The cow, named Alice, escaped a farmer’s field yesterday (Oct. 30) around 3 p.m. in the area of 1 Sideroad between Guelph Line and Cedar Springs Road, according to a post on the Burlington Together Facebook group.

“Hello, this is Alice our cow, she has escaped our field (around 3pm) we have been looking for her and the police as well.. if anyone sees a black cow wandering alone please send me a message .. she is very friendly but I’m sure scared right now,” the post from Dani Pilon reads.

Pilon says Alice knows her name and will come for grain.

The post has generated more than 200 comments, mostly from well-wishers hoping Alice can be found.

But there were some sightings. One person said they thought they saw Alice on Waterdown Road.

Another snapped a photo of what appeared to be Alice sauntering up Beeforth Road.

And this morning another poster indicated they saw Alice around Beeforth Road and Concession Road 6.

As of 8:30 a.m. today, there was no word if Alice had safely returned home.
