A fixture in the downtown Milton core for nearly two decades will be closing its doors for good in a few weeks.

The owners of Bryden’s Pub, located at 272 Main St. E., announced on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the restaurant’s final day is Sunday, Sept. 17.

“It is with very mixed emotions that we will be winding down operations here at Bryden’s Pub,” said a message co-signed by owners Prentice and Shannon Toker.

“For almost 17 years (we) have given every ounce of energy into this business and it has been quite an adventure, but it’s really time for us to ride off into the sunset. We are retiring.”

In the message, the Tokers said the timing is right as the property owner is planning an update to the building.

“We have been reminded so often by our wonderful customers how much history and memories have been created at this historic site. Generations of families have walked through these doors. We are proud to have been a part of it and I hope we have contributed to the fond memories.”
