A famous TikToker, known for critiquing food and dining spots, kicked off his food tour in Toronto, and this place in Ajax, Ontario was his second stop.

Keith Lee, a notable food critic on TikTok, travelled from the U.S. to try some of Ontario’s go-to places.

Lee’s first stop was Scarborough on Friday where he tried a few shawarmas at Sumac Iraqi Charcoal Grill.

On Saturday (April 6), he headed to Biscuits to Baskets, located at 49 Beatty Rd in Ajax, which is known for its wide selection of handmade confections including its most popular chocolate barks, caramel apples, and sponge toffees.

The shop also serves cake slices and brownies in various flavours such as M and M’s, Oreos, and peanut butter and jelly.

There are even seasonal goodies available such as white chocolate dipped strawberries tossed in coconut or skor chocolate bits.

Other options include croissants stuffed with various fillings, scones, and puffed pastries.

In his latest video on TikTok, Lee holds a box of  four square cake slices and says, “This is the most Canadian thing that I’ve ever done.”

The desserts cost a total of $36.16, and after a taste test, Lee gave them a score of 7 out of 10.

If you’re looking to pair your desserts with a drink, Backyard Brew, located in the exact same place as Biscuits to Baskets might be worth checking out.

This cafe offers a selection of beverages including espressos, lattes, mochas, and cappuccinos with the choice of having them served hot or cold.

Although Lee typically doesn’t drink coffee, he tried the Korean sponge toffee latte and appeared to enjoy it, giving it an 8 out of 10 rating.

Established in 2003 by Suzanne Smith, this home-based chocolate shop has grown from a one-woman operation into a family business that includes her husband, son, and grandmother.

The bakery and cafe keep their offerings fresh and exciting by regularly updating their menus. They introduce new items and phase out others to reflect seasonal flavours and trends, ensuring a new and engaging experience each time customers visit.

However, the true charm of Backyard Brew and Biscuits to Baskets lies in their unique setup, hidden behind a residence in a space reminiscent of a garage. This location surprises and delights patrons, adding a cozy, friendly vibe that makes everyone feel welcome and at home.

Lee ended the video by with, “They say Canadians are some of the nicest people, and I see why.”
