Fatal crash leads to charges for an Oakville truck driver

An Oakville truck driver faces charges in a fatal crash in Wellington County.

One person died after a semi-truck collided with a pickup truck at Wellington Road 11 and Wellington Road 7 in Mapleton Township, near Kitchener, around noon on Oct. 23 last year, OPP said.

The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the transport truck driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Krzysztof Wiatr, 60, of Oakville, is charged with dangerous operation causing death and careless driving causing death contrary, OPP said in a press release on April 10.
