Fines add up to $900 for Burlington stop-sign runner

A Burlington driver has been hit with fines amounting to $900 after a run-in with the law.

According to Halton police reports, a driver was spotted running through a stop sign on Killbride Street yesterday (April 25) morning around 8;15 a.m.

Officers say the driver ignored the stop sign in a community safe zone and was also talking on a cell phone.

Police say the driver then sped off and was clocked going 74 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

All of the incidents were caught by officers on their in-car camera system.

The driver now faces a multitude of fines that amount to $900.

The name of the driver has not been released.
