Fire destroys home in Halton Hills

A fire has destroyed a home in the Glen Williams community just north of Georgetown.

No injuries were reported.

The fire broke out around 11 a.m. on Saturday (March 23) at the house located on Eighth Line just north of 22 Sideroad.

According to reports, when Halton Hills firefighters arrived at the scene they discovered the roof of the structure had already collapsed and flames could be seen shooting from the building.

Accounts on social media say the smoke could be seen several kilometres away.

Emergency crews remained on the scene for several hours combatting the blaze as there were concerns about the intensity of the heat that could reignite the flames.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
